Days till Taiwan Trip: 81 or 88.
Pages of Harry Potter left: 306.
Is that enough time? I think so.
Quick weekend update:
Saturday morning my parents headed back home. I dropped them off - they were glad to be going home, I was glad that I would be able to get some consistent sleep from now on. The couch is too freakin' warm to sleep on.
After that, a visit to Sports plus for the CA xmas party. We ended up staying quite a while - I ice skated for a while - I really HATE their new shoes because the laces stick and the shoes are hell to tighten. I ended up leaving them a little loose, and wobbled around the Rink. Not fun but after a while I got OK again. Played a few games, the two I liked best was one called 'Arctic Racer' (which crashed, showed a boot screen for a P3 with 128 Meg of memory, and booted into Win2K!) and a machine gun game which I did pretty well on. (with different partners). Most shooting games are hell because you have to pull the gun trigger like crazy, and reload every X shots. This one, you just hold down the trigger and shoot everything. Also there are no 'good guys' you may accidentally shoot, so you can just go nuts with it.
After THAT, A few of us went to Cedar Beach. The beach was very rocky, and no fun to walk on, but the weather was nice. We saw a nice sunset. There are, however, trails and a basketball court, and other things to do, so in some ways it's more interesting than a pure sand beach. When the wind died down we banged with my Speedminton set. The 'night shuttle' worked very well (the one that glows). Zhi and Flora used the Speedminton rackets, and Euncil (spelled wrong) and Myself used tennis rackets, so Zhi/Flora were always hitting the ball much harder than we were!
Sunday, I joined the unofficial CA camera club (the CA-ratzi) out to Ocean Beach on Fire Island. It was pretty fun, lots of dueling camera shots. There are many many stores there, and it takes a bit to just walk out to the beach. The Sand on the beach was marvelous, clean and very sandy. There were pretty strict rules - no eating, drinking, or even throwing anything on some parts! If you stood by the water, the water quickly washed the sand out from under your feet. I shouldn't have pushed my luck two days in a row - my nose is definitely slightly sunburned now.
